Even before iOS 18 arrives, there are already several shortcuts you can use to get great AI features on your iPhone. And needless to say, ChatGPT GPT-4o is the hottest thing in AI right now.
The new GPT-4o experience feels like magic because it brings a faster multimodal update that handles voice, images, and live video. It also lets you interrupt it while you’re talking, and it can detect the tone of the user’s voice. More interestingly, this tool is available for free with the ChatGPT app, even though a paid version improves the experience and increases your chat limits.
That said, I was still a bit uneasy about trying ChatGPT until I found these iPhone shortcuts, which can bring the best of AI to your iPhone for free.

Replace Siri with ChatGPT: If you have an iPhone 15 Pro, you can tweak the Action Button to activate voice response every time you press the button. On the Shortcuts app, choose the + icon, select OpenAI ChatGPT, and “Start voice conversation with ChatGPT.” Thanks to the new GPT-4o, conversations are natural and full of context.

Summarize articles: With the new ChatGPT app, you can ask the assistant to summarize the article by just providing the link. You can also ask to have an amount of words, or share the information in bullet points.
Math problem solver: On the ChatGPT app, tap the menu icon and the “Explore GPTs.” Choose Math Solver to have an advanced math solver and AI tutor. It helps you with step-by-step answers and can even analyze your homework by taking a photo of it.
Email composition: Ask ChatGPT to help you compose an important business email. Even if you need to adjust it, the personal assistant can give the message structure.
Turn your imagination into imagery: With ChatGPT Plus, you can ask DALL-E to create an image out of your words. It’s just mind-blowing.
